Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI wouldn't characterize this as something I "didn't like", but I would have liked to have turkey and/or beef sausage and apple and/or cranberry juices in lieu of the grapefruit juice. Also, the concierge should inform guests that they need to provide their room number to the kitchen staff upon arrival for breakfast.
The property is well kept, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the television had several cable channels, private parking is available for a fee, the staff was pleasant, especially the concierge Roy who was very accommodating. My husband and I stayed here for his birthday on Sunday night, May 12 through Monday, May 13. We tried to extend our stay but it was sold out for the next three nights. We found other accommodations during the week but I made sure to book again on Thursday, May 16. The deal-maker for me was the FREE breakfast. The breakfast options were amazing. It wasn't your typical continental breakfast. It was more like an "international breakfast" - a hot buffet of scrambled eggs, sausage (pork), potatoes, there were pre-made sandwiches as well as "make your own", quiches, croissants, pastries, oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, tea, coffee aka "THE WORKS" and everything tasted good!! I will definitely refer The Lodge to family and friends.

SpainYou know it before you book it but it is definitely a bit far from any good transportation (15/20 min walk from the nearest metro station). You have a bus stop close but it takes some time to reach downtown BK depending on the traffic. The ferry has a strange timetalbe so not super useful. The breakfast room needs to be bigger, and one additionnal staff member wouldn´t be a luxury to handle the many guests of the hotel.
Good quality for the price considering NYC rates The room was big and comfortable Breakfast was good Staff was ok especially the lady responsible for the breakfast Cleaning was good, probably improved regarding the previous comments

PolandIt was not possible to get an invoice directly at the hotel, so I wrote an email to the designated person. They couldn't put the correct address on the invoice (as a public institution employee, I assure you, it's extremely important, especially in Poland), saying that they can't change it, because I booked via booking and I have different address there. I understand that they have automatic integrated system for the invoices but if someone asks emphasising its importance, and if you can't do it on your own, it's always possible to ask an accountant! Now I'm not sure if I will be reimbursed for my business trip... I asked a few times, but they repeatedly denied help. It has never happened to me before. Moreover, room was not sound-proof whatsoever, I could hear everything (even while wearing the earplugs) especially during the breakfast time - my room was very close to the dining area.
Staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and decent. I really recommend this place if you want to see something authentic. I spent a few days in Manhattan, then moved to Red Hook and I was charmed by its energy and peace. It is really eccentric but cozy. You can eat amazing lobster roll nearby, just walk around or sit looking at the water sipping a bear.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is very nicely maintained, and they serve an exceptional buffet breakfast. The Red Hook Lodge is located very close to MSC Brooklyn Cruise Port and Station Island Ferry, and Lobster Pound Eatery, for excellent lobster rolls, and shell food. My recommdations to management is to add coffee, tea, service 24/7. Like Hampton Inn. Your customers will greatly appreciate the added coffee tea service.
