Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNot that I didn't like, since I was in a hurry, but the hotel bar was a bit sluggish for me with delayed service, when I was the only guest there.
Reception. The front desk gentleman Earl made a huge difference for me. He was very accommodating to my needs, made me feel relaxed. It was a great experience. I will definitely be staying there again.

United States of AmericaNeed a mirror in the room, not just bathroom. Coffee in machine downstairs was terrible. Unclear about the $10 coupon. How to use? I have been at nice comparable hotels with quality coffee in the lobby and a happy hour for a glass of wine, etc. A little spoiling is lovely.
Loved the staff, efficiency, helpfulness! Lobby is lovely. Staff was fantastic everywhere. Room was comfortable. Bed was comfortable and both were clean. Appreciated toiletry supplies and the ecological consciousness avoiding plastics and unnecessary laundering.

United States of AmericaThere is a lack of parking available, but their valet service is very reasonably priced and incredibly fast.
The staff was amazing. Very personable and helpful. Two different restaurants attached to the lobby make for a lot of quality and convenient meal locations.

The Paramount Hotel in Portland exceeded all of our expectations. We were impressed by the impeccable attention to detail and the friendly, welcoming staff. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with luxurious amenities that made our stay incredibly comfortable. The hotel's central location was perfect for exploring downtown Portland, with countless dining and entertainment options just steps away. We love the valet service, the dining experience and the awesome staff of botht the restaurants. Overall, the Paramount Hotel provided a five-star experience, and I can't wait to return on my next visit to Portland."

United States of AmericaThey don’t offer the bed and breakfast option which would have axed our stay, as we wanted to stay in.
It’s right in the heart of downtown and walking distance to plenty of restaurants, the water etc. Even though there’s no parking provided or valet services, there’s a parking garage where you can park overnight for less than $10 and it’s safe!

United States of AmericaBe aware that the additional "amenities fees" and Portland city lodging taxes and art fund taxes will add to the price quoted on the Booking site. It was a bit of a surprise that my $138 room went up to $170 upon checkout. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar and ate at the hotel restaurant which resulted in a $10 credit. Can't escape the taxes if you want to stay downtown. Valet parking is $59 per night.
The location of the hotel is excellent for events at the Portland arts theaters. Only a block and a half away from the venues. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Some street noise but our room was on the 12th floor which helped a lot.
