What a great find this accomodation has been! After being initially slightly dissapointed we could not get a funaya accommodation, after our actual stay, all I can say is how lucky we were to have experienced the stay here instead. The room was so spaceous, and bright, with all the facilities we would have wanted. The kotatsu has been lovely! All the decoration and overall setting feels so cosy and warm. Exceptional breakfast, with many delicious choices. Lots of flavor and fresh, local ingredients. Loved the pickles and the atsuki dessert! Everything was spot on! Much more than we could have hoped. Wish we could have stayed more to enjoy the room facilities even better.

A big selling point of course was the private bath, but a pleasant surprise was their restaurant. My booking included breakfast and a Wagyu course dinner and both were delicious and very satisfying. For a one night splurge, I highly recommend this hotel.

Very lovely experience in center of Kyoto. Staff is very kind and respectfull. Dinner on room was very tasty and refreshing, maybe a bit more pricier. Onsen is amazing. Lot of amenities on room. We were given a earlier breakfast on request. A bit more modern ryokan than most I visited Older lady serving golf was lovely!
This place is for those who want to try a very traditional Ryokan. Futons on tatami matting and a traditional onsen (shared hot tub). There is also a small hot tub in the room. The family have been running it for 13 generations. It is designated museum as they keep it as traditional as is possible. Our room gave onto a delightful Japanese garden just in from the coast and was very tranquil. This is not for people looking for modern conveniences.
Best services and facilities you can get for a Ryokan at this price range. Superb value and absolutely loved the friendly staff! Onsen is awesome as well
The hosts were extremely gracious, and I love that it’s family-owned, in the building they live in! There is lovely tatami in the rooms and pretty comfy futons, with beautiful, minimalist decoration. Yukata and tea were provided for a full, relaxing ryokan stay.
I’m the fans of Dormy Inn , so I like everything at this hotel , especially the tatami ground and the onsen ( there are 6 and unbelievable)
It’s was amazing, the staff is so friendly. The rooms are clean and tidy, loved the futon and tatami experience.
Super friendly and helpful staff, the room was spacious and we could even wear the traditional yukata. We had a comfy night on the tatami with the futon.
lovely hotel, traditional tatami, with Onsen. Stff was very kind when I asked if I could use the onsen as I have tattoos and asked if I should have covered them (they said no, it was ok) We booked the traditional breakfast which was superb.
From the moment we arrived we were met with smiling staff who were there to help with anything and everything our entire stay. We had reserved a room with private bath (onsen but without the mineral spring water) which was a wonderful experience as we weren’t comfortable going to a public onsen. My son and I loved exploring, and there is so much to see in the area. From traditional breakfasts to a Kaiseki dinner, futon beds and the bathing room it summed up a traditional Kyoto experience for me.
This hotel is modern Ryokan. Everything I need was here. We have to take off our shoes and kept in hotel's locker. We have to bare our feet and walk on hotel's floor, which cover by tatami mat. Staff cleaning our luggage's' wheels before entering to keep their floor clean. Onsen here are superb! There are free noodles, ice cream and yakult for guest. Location of this hotel is excellent. We can walk to Kyoto station and subway. Bus stop is very close, and we can take bus 206 to Kiyomitsu dera.
