I love Moody Gardens.
I love Moody Gardens. Have been there several times in the past using all of their facilities but this trip around was very disappointed especially what they charge for each and everything you want to do. I remember paying to get in and everything else was included except for Imax. Prices at the restaurant are overpriced, as well. Food was only average.

Overpriced for what was there, aquarium was good.
Overpriced for what was there, aquarium was good. There was not much to the rain forest. it had a lot of birds but that was about it. We were not impressed with it. I would recommend the aquarium and the 3D and 4D movies. Don't waste your money on the reat.

I was there during the winter with my husband and an almost 2 years old son. The hotel is huge, comfortable and beautiful. Unfortunately the indoor pool was not heated and we couldn't enjoy the pool.
There is no free attraction. You have to pay for all the hotel attractions.

The aquarium was really neat, the rainforest jungle pyramid is not worth the add'l cost at all. There are several touch tanks in the aquarium and the tunnel you walk through and so many different areas to just sit and view the fish swimming by. The rainforest was just that... rainforest with humidity and a few birds.

This can be a one day.
This can be a one day. The zip line was one time and not many people there to do it. Found that rather bad. The experience was wonderful would I go again no one time was enough. The boat ride was boring the paddles did not paddle and not worth extra for a hour long ride. Would rather go to the Elissa and do that boat trip again. Saw dolphins and learned a lot of history as well

Best value is the memberships offered because you can enjoy the Gardens for a whole year at your own pace & with two visits you recover your investment. The Gardens always have fun things for the whole family.

The view and easy access to the beach are great. The overall location in Galveston is also close to everything so the kids could swim, put-put and batting cage. We also drove nearby to Moody Gardens and downtown old Galveston.
Standard breakfast, room is modern, with excellent decor, minimal carpets, very clean. Location is a little out of downtown, however there is a trolley along the seawall that goes to Moody Gardens or downtown. Grocery stores such as Kroger or Walmart's are within 10 minutes walk, allowing one to buy food for a supper to be had in the room. There is a coffee machine, fridge, and microwave.
The hotel is located close to the Moody gardens and Schlitterbahn Galveston. It is also just across the road form the beach and not as crowded. Great hotel to spend a vacation with the family.
Moody Gardens at the Holiday season is beautiful. The annual Festival of Lights is a mile-long walk among thousands of lights, ranging from deer to stars, to the Nativity. Excellent from beginning to end.
The free breakfast was a great way to start the day, the ice machines at the time of my stay were not functioning except for the one on the top floor so it became a bit of a chore to get ice. Although the ice machine were a small issue, the location across the street from the gulf and its proximity to Moody Gardens, Pleasure Pier, and many fast food/restaurants on the island was awesome
I reserved a king bed and a poolside view. I had to settle for a double bed because all the king beds were reserved for people making direct reservations with Moody Gardens. My vanity backed up with stagnant sewer water after taking a shower. I complained to the manager next day and was given another room later on around 5:30pm. Meanwhile, I’m not happy with the double bed situation and really didn’t enjoy my weekend stay for $700 that I paid for two nights.
