Cannot think of anything - our expectations for this hotel were met and exceeded, particularly with the friendliness of the people working there.

The warm welcome was a lovely start to our 2 night stay here. All the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us; just how hotel service should be, with a special mention to Madison who we saw most often - a credit to the team! Our room (101) provided all we needed. The bed and bedding were comfortable, clean and soft (pillowcases & duvet cover were very nice). No view as such but as we were out most of the time during our stay that didn't matter. The breakfast choices were good - we enjoyed a full Scottish on the first morning (excellent 👌🏼) and a really delicious cheese and ham 3 egg omelette on the second morning. The hotel location was just right for us - being central for the things we wanted to walk to (Solway Spirits, Annandale Distillery and Lonsdale Cinema) whilst exploring Annan town and surrounding areas on foot.

Our bathroom was very small, so it was cramped and difficult to move around. It was newly renovated, so clean. The shower water pressure was very weak. The bathroom had a bath that had better tap water pressure.

The bed was very comfortable and there is a great bar/ dining room area. The location on Annan High Street means it is close to other restaurants and walking distance from the train station.

The hotel is above a busy bar or at least our rooms were bit noisy but not enough to ruin a good night sleep

The breakfast was brilliant really good choices of food and plenty of it, the staff were friendly and welcoming, lots of good parking.

AS MENTIONED ABOVE , THEY ARE THE STAIRS , NARROW CORRIDORS AND THE VERY SMALL BATHROOM . I HAD A ' SINGLE ROOM ' WITH A ' DOUBLE BED ' ; THE BED WAS FINE FOR ME ,BUT I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT IF TWO GUESTS WERE TO SHARE THIS ROOM , THEY WOULD FIND IT THE ' SMALLNESS ' OVERWELMING ! .I THINK A MUCH BETTER LAYOUT WOULD BE TO 'KNOCK TWO ROOMS TOGETHER' . THIS WOULD OBVIOUSLY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF ROOMS AVAILABLE ,BUT THIS WILL ENABLE FUTURE GUESTS TO ' BREATHE ' IN THERE ROOM ,ENJOY THE ESTBLISHMENT FULLY , AND HOPEFULLY RETURN AND RECOMMEND ' THE CORNER HOUSE HOTEL ' TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS .

COMFORTABLE BED ,BUT ALTHOUGH THE ROOM HAD RECENTLY BEEN REFURBISHED IT WAS VERY SMALL ! . FURTHER , I COULD NOT GET INTO THE BATH FOR A SHOWER BECAUSE OF IT'S HEIGHT~LEGS HAVE HEALTH ISSUES . A ' WET FLOOR ' WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUITED; ALL THE MORE SO AS THE BATHROOM IS VERY SMALL & NARROW !. THE PROPRIETOR SHOULD ' STRESS ' TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS THAT THERE IS NO LIFT ! .AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THE BUILDING , THE FIRST THING TO ' WELCOME YOU ' IS A STEEP , BUT BROAD , STAIRWAY. THE ROOMS ARE ON 2 LEVELS ; THE FIRST FLOOR HAS A BAR / SMALL RECEPTION AREA . ACROSS FROM THIS IS A NICE ' OPEN SPACE ' ,VERY POPULAR , CAFE SERVING A RANGE OF DRINKS , SNACKS AND LIGHT MEALS AND A TEMPTING SELECTION OF CAKES .I MEANT TO MENTION THAT THE CORRIDORS TO THE ROOMS ARE EXTREMELY NARROW . THEY DO NOT ALLOW PETS ( THANK GOD ! ) . ACCESS TO THE 10 MIN WALK LOCAL RAILWAY IS DIRECTLY ACROSS THE HIGH ST .THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT ,AND IS LITTERLY RIGHT IN THE 'MIDDLE' BETWEEN DUMFRIES & CARLISLE ~ 15 MILES AWAY FROM EACH . EASY ACCESS TO BOTH THE ' A75 '& THE 'M74' .FINALLY THERE IS A ' WEE 'LOCAL BUS STN , WITH SERVICES TO NEARBY TOWNS AND VILLAGES .THE HOTEL IS GOOD ' BASE ' FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO TOUR THIS PART OF ' BONNIE SCOTLAND '.

A pleasant hotel, convenient for the town, but an old building with the downfalls that go with that.

    • Couple

A lift would have been good, I appreciate the main building is listed, but there are newer add-ons where a lift could have been installed. The room was not as warm as it could have been, it was big with high ceilings and two big windows, but only one radiator. The hotel extends to the car park behind, but we were not permitted to take luggage in from the back, this meant walking round the building at night past some unsavoury characters revelling in a local pub who spat at me whilst I was walking past and made unpleasant comments.

Staff were all very pleasant and always prepared to do what they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible, room was an excellent size and the place was kept very clean.

It was a little dated but clean and comfortable.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were all really friendly and helpful, even under exceptional circumstances ( there was a fire further down the street but the owner and his staff worked quickly to reassure us and put us up at another hotel close by).
