Budistički hram star 1.000 godina, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in nudi smeštaj u japanskom stilu, prekrasan vrt i besplatan WiFi. Excellent location, close to Okunoin Temple and Cemetery. Room were clean and warm as it was freezing outside. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious. You could participate in the ceremonies conducted by the temple monks. The night tour was also informative.

The garden is gorgeous, the monks are incredibly nice and the food was delightful. We also enjoyed the morning ceremony. We only stayed for one night yet we will always cherish this memory. This is the best value for memories that we have experienced so far in Japan. From the moment you enter: the guidelines are clear but kind, the staff are welcoming, and the peacefulness surrounds you. If you're physically able, we recommend booking one of the traditional tatami mat rooms for a fuller experience. The food leaves you feeling full but not heavy as it's vegetarian. The whole space is very clean. Certainly get to the main hall early in the morning for a calm beginning to observing the monks' morning sutras. They will hold luggage pre and post check in/out, so explore the town of Koya San. The nearby temples and especially the cemetery warrant about 1 hour each to fully experience them. The Yukata traditional loungewear they provide may (and is encouraged to) be worn everywhere except morning prayers. The onsen within the building is open after dinner until ~9pm. Check it out. Make sure to wash yourself within the onsen room before entering. Lastly, read the information they provide to you the day before your check in so that you are prepared and respectful.

Dinner had so many vegan dishes and they were delicious. Breakfast was smaller but still filling. It won't be a western breakfast. The futon ended up being comfy and warm but the halls were cold in the morning. I suggest arriving at the start of check in to take full advantage of everything there is (enjoying the pond, onsen, tea in room while reading the info on ceremonies). Location was great for the big 3 sites, if you don't mind walk 20 minutes in either direction.

The temple building was amazing- so old and beautiful. The staff was very friendly, but most of them spoke very little English. There was some confusion with getting dinner for the evening as it was not included in my reservation. So if you want breakfast or dinner, snd it is not included in your reservation, make sure to tell them you want it as soon as you check in. It was a wonderful experience to stay there! Make sure you go to the Fire ceremony, which was at 1 pm daily. It is free.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. This place has a 9.1 rating and most reviews seem too good to be true but trust me on this, this place is THAT good. And I would rate this hotel a 100 out of 10 if I can, the high rating is truly deserved. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are clean, spacious, and the futon is comfortable. The location is great, there are many food places nearby, the beach is just a few minutes walk away (you can even see it from your room depending on where you are placed), and the bus stop which will take you to the station or most places around Shirahama is very near.
