I reserved a two twin bed hotel room that mentioned nothing about the fact they were bunk beds. Traveling with my 73 year old mother meant staying in a room with bunk beds meant the hotel assumed that it would be okay without communicating the situation, the "front desk" which were also "hip" bartenders too cool to attend to us promptly did not feel the need to ask if bunk beds were acceptable before gladly letting us check in. The next morning when checking out the person checking us out actually laughed at us when my mother made comment that bunk beds for a 73 y/o with bad hips was less than acceptable. If we were going to stay longer we would have checked out anyway.
The fact that parking was not connected to the hotel that was an entirely separate charge if you could navigate the QR code and have an app that a traveler would never use again was annoyingly difficult to navigate, but the offensive part to me was when asked about parking the front desk simply gestured to the QR code on the wall and said something to the effect of, "there, figure it out for yourself."
I understand that it was marketed as a trendy fun and hip hotel, but the general decor was a combination of cliche HGTV impersonal overly utilized tropes, annoyingly bright oversized neon, and a generic mass produced "cool" posters.
The advertised breakfast (understanding that it was continental style) was brutally bad burned coffee, a box of m&m's and some cereal boxes you could use the milk from the coffee bar for. Again, when we asked about it, it was a wave of the hand and a nonchalant "over that way" as if asking about it was an offense to the staff because the we should have read the signage.
Overall, the staff was dismissive and cold, the room was offensively small awkward and difficult to navigate, and the decor was loud tacky and offensively unoriginal (especially considering it was billed as on trend).
