How does it work?

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property, they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff is, and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Great location, walking distance to Chinatown, NYU’s Paulson Center, and subway stations. There seems to be a shelter behind the property so leaving in the morning was a bit complicated as folks were lining up and some were a bit noisy. There is no full breakfast service, neither in líder nor a payed option. They do serve coffee and one pastry per guest. Pastries are pretty decent, coffee was meh. The rooms are clean, spacious and its cheaper than other alternatives I’ve used. Not a whole lot of amenities, but it’s a great place for a quick trip. We had a great view of the city even though our room was overlooking the alley.

The homeless shelter behind the property made it feel less safe when walking to the hotel late at night, or early in the morning. There is also a couple of construction projects around the block, but then again that is New York City all the time. There is a couple of dining options around the block, but most of them close early, so it was challenging to get a late night bite. The alley that leads to the hotel is “hyper-urban”, that is its made to look a bit more ”used up” and “vandalized” that it would naturally be otherwise. The walls are covered in graffiti and the scaffolding is plastered with stickers. I liked the vibe, but older or more conservative guests might find this detrimental to their experience.

The hospitality staff (Alisa is the only name I recall) were all fantastic and responded to all of our requests with a smile and promptly. The pool was great! We enjoyed the restaurant, even on a very busy night, we had a lovely meal and our server was wonderful.

The room smelled like bleach and the floors were still wet when we arrived at 1pm. My son's pants and one of my bags were bleached from inadvertent contact with the floor. Despite the *abundant* use of bleach by housekeeping, the floors still felt slimy and gritty during our stay. We wore socks the whole time and they were gross by the end of each day so that points to the floor not really being clean. The room was so humid! Nothing dried out -- like our bath towels. The facility ran out of towels on our second day so we had to use pool towels. Not sure what you can do about that except install fans and order more towels. Our son's pullout sofa where he slept was stained (the cushions) - and the linens inside were dirty. We had to get replacements from the front desk our first night. Again, the hotel staff was very responsive to our requests but there's a definite need for improvement in the cleaning standards and what products you use to clean. Never use bleach products just prior to a guest's arrival! There's no way to air the room out unless you open the door and it still takes hours. Lastly, the silverware and cutting board provided in the room were dirty. We had to wash everything before we used it. We didn't bring ALL of this to the attention of the staff during our stay - only the things that were most important. However, we felt the need to share the totality of our experience so that you can take steps to improve in the future!

The location to our destination for the weekend was perfect. Not to far at all from other shopping areas.

We didn't have coffee in the actual room. Had to go to lobby area. I also was not able to get a printed or emailed receipt apparently by the staff member at the counter when we checked with my information for final pay. He ended giving me a receipt of the amount reflecting what I paid with someone else's information and said that should work? Interesting... HIPPA violation.

There was nothing I didn’t like, necessarily — but the $10 a night parking was a bit steep. No real complaints though.
