destination reviews from real travelers

How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property, they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff is, and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

[cannot rate breakfast-no breakfast] The location was good, near to waterfront/market/shops about 1.5miles down* the hill; mixed neighborhood, walk to ferry terminal on Alaskan way also about 1.5mile). The rooftop patio was great to have. Having bedrooms on two levels and separate from the middle living/kitchen level was also good so that we did not disturb each other when up early or late. The apartment provides just about all you need and nothing you don't. It had a lot of natural light by day. We enjoyed being able to walk 2 blocks for coffee and be back in minutes. It was probably 20min or so to anywhere we wanted to go around town by rental car, which is pretty good! The neighborhood was perfectly calm and I was never kept up or wakened by traffic or human noises despite being close to many other buildings and streets.

We only could not find any dish towels in kitchen; and the dishwasher drawer fell off track anytime you moved it. It was fine. I would highly recommend having a compact car if plan to park in garage. There is evidence that not everyone has the skills to get their car in and out --there is some strategy and skill involved- to do with the shape of the approach; and you are not allowed to park anywhere outside on street. It was not a problem for us but I can see how it could be a big problem for some. The neighbors were shocked that we did it. Only other issue is vents for AC units preclude full closure of shades so that some street light comes in at night. Easily remedied w eye mask, etc.

  • Penny Farthing Inn

    St. Augustine, Florida

    Average Review Score: 9
    • Positive section of review

The Inn’s location in the mid-historical section of St. Augustine provides perfect access- walking distance- to most of the wonderful attractions and restaurants. A Trolly stop is only a block away! The housekeeper/manager, Ann, made us feel completely welcome. She also prepared yummy breakfasts that she served In clever, inviting presentations! Varieties of coffees, teas and other hot beverages were plentiful and available 24/7.

Sadly, the Inn is in a state of disrepair. The rotting wood on the porch, burned-out lights, dead plants and general lack of upkeep are evidence that what was once a lovely home now cries for a desperate overhaul. The first floor dining and gathering rooms are dark and gloomy. Lighting throughout is very poor. We stayed in the Windsor room and were rather shocked at its condition. While the linens and towels were pristine and the bed very comfy, it wreaked of neglect. The wall AC was broken and a very noisy and large floor-standing portable AC was installed (large duct exhaust snaked through a cut in the window). This AC made the little table unusable. Burned out ceiling fixtures in the kitchenette area and over the shower had dead insects in the glass shades. Window blinds were broken in several places, and the broken door blinds created a privacy and safety concern. All in all it was a crowded, uninviting space.

Our 2nd time to stay here after 2 years. Still nice small cabin (3). Nothing fancy, but clean. Wood paneling. Small bathroom with shower. Bed was comfortable. No breakfast but their are restaurants in town. Right off I-90. Owner is an EMT - if she is out on a call, she has backup folks to check people in.

It is fairly close to I-90. I used ear plugs.

The showers at Marriott properties are starting to get rid of shower curtains and installing a sliver of a glass shield. This little thin shield does not prevent water from going all over the floor. I had to use another bath towel to prevent a wet floor. This is the 2nd time I've had a bathroom like this at a Marriott and it's a terrible idea. I can't possibly be the first person to mention this, nor will I be the last. Bring back shower curtains, please.

I thought the hotel was safe but someone broke in to my truck and busted my window, I asked the front desk if the cameras work in the parking lot and they didn’t. Didn’t even offer any kind of help. I will never stay there again it was horrible.
